In one line
The Ancient Cycle is a menstrual cycle tracker that keeps symptoms, moods and notes on the user's own device, and reads their birth chart in three traditions — Western astrology, Vedic Jyotish and Chinese Bazi.
Boilerplate — quote this freely
The Ancient Cycle is a web-based menstrual cycle tracker built around a deliberate constraint: the things users write down never reach the company's servers. Symptoms, moods, energy levels and daily notes are stored in the user's own browser. Period dates and phase tracking sync so the app works across devices; nothing else does.
Alongside tracking, it casts a user's birth chart in three separate traditions — Western astrology, Vedic Jyotish and Chinese Bazi — and pairs each phase of the cycle with food and self-care guidance from Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine, including where modern research disagrees with the traditional account.
It was launched in 2026 by a solo developer, and is available in English and Vietnamese.
The claim, and how to check it
Symptoms, moods, energy and notes are written to IndexedDB in the user's browser and are never transmitted. There is no column for them in the database.
We publish the test rather than asking anyone to take that on faith: /verify — open the browser's Network tab, log a symptom, and no request fires. Log a period date and a request appears immediately. The same page lists everything the server does store, both third parties that receive requests, and the limits of what the product can promise.
If you want to run a proper packet capture, get in touch and we'll help rather than hide.

What we don't claim
We are not open source. For an audience that treats source availability as the standard, that is a real limitation and we would rather state it than have it discovered.
The app makes no medical claims, does not diagnose, and deliberately does not predict a fertile window or offer contraception guidance — that would require regulatory clearance we do not have. Traditional guidance is always attributed to the tradition, and where modern evidence contradicts it, we say so.
Assets
Logo, app icon, product screenshots and illustrations of Chandra — our openly AI-illustrated guide — are available on request, usually within the hour. Email hello@ancientcycle.app and tell us what you need and at what size.
Corrections
If we have published something inaccurate, tell us and we will fix it and say that we did. That applies to this page as much as anything else.
